A bright, slightly fruity opening of bergamot, pear and sour cherry leads into a luminous floral heart of tuberose, orange blossom and jasmine sambac, before settling into a dark, sensual base of patchouli, vetiver, ambroxan, caramel and vanilla an unexpected pairing of bright white florals with a brooding “darker side” drydown.

Givenchy was founded in Paris in 1952 by Hubert de Givenchy, who created the original L’Interdit in 1957 as a private fragrance for his close friend Audrey Hepburn making it one of the first celebrity fragrances. The 2018 reissue brings that storied DNA into a contemporary register, presented with actress Rooney Mara as its modern muse and a sleek black-bowed glass flacon.
