If your roof vent has an older motor, it will have to be replaced along with the fan blade. To determine whether you have an old or new motor, measure the length of the motor from end to end (excluding shafts and mounting hardware, measuring just the case.) If the motor measures 2″, it is an older motor and should be replaced with the fan blade. A new motor measures 1-1/2″ in length.
